The city of Almena and the city of Long Island pair together into Northern Valley Schools - USD 212.
The grade school and high school are located in Almena. The middle school, consisting of 5-8th grade, is in Long Island. Middle school children may ride the route bus to/from Long Island, boarding in front of the grade school.
